Hello John,

In a world where LGBTQ+ youth are too often reduced to headlines or legislation, something extraordinary is happening. Across the country, we’re seeing queer youth show us what resilience looks like: building, creating, and leading in real time.

Last week, we shared that eight new Youth Voices ambassadors are joining It Gets Better: LGBTQ+ students, artists, and activists ready to share their stories and step into leadership. This year’s cohort is 50% Hispanic/Latine, a first for us, and a reminder that the communities most affected by what's happening in the world around them are standing strong, ready to fight. 

And yesterday, we introduced the 2025–2026 class of It Gets Better: Changemakers, youth-led projects making tangible impact in schools and communities nationwide. These projects are giving queer kids the chance to experience a rite of passage like prom for the first time, access clothing that aligns with their gender, and find support through mental health zines and inclusive curricula. As one grantee put it, these projects create spaces “where it feels safe to show up fully, and where the future feels just a little more possible.”

Since 2022, more than $1.6 million has powered 170+ youth-led initiatives like these across the U.S. and Canada. When you invest in these programs, you’re not just supporting one youth leader or one grant project, you’re supporting the hundreds of thousands of kids who will be impacted by what we’re building together.
