We have an update on an important court case. In just a few days, we'll be back in court as Planned Parenthood Federation of America fights back in a politically motivated case brought by the state of Texas and an anonymous plaintiff against it and against Planned Parenthood affiliates in Texas.

There has been so much happening that we want to share a reminder of what's at stake in this case:

This lawsuit is part of a decades-long coordinated effort to eliminate affordable health care for Texans and patients across the country. It's based on a false claim that Planned Parenthood broke the law by getting reimbursed for birth control, cancer screenings, and other basic health care services that it provided legally.

If the state of Texas gets its way, it would be that much harder for patients to get care, and Planned Parenthood health centers could be forced to close their doors for good — with devastating consequences for people's lives -- especially women, people with low incomes, and other communities who have historically faced barriers to care due to discrimination and racism.

Let's be clear: This lawsuit has only one goal, and it's to shut down Planned Parenthood, making it harder for people to get care.
