First, Republican Zach Nunn made it abundantly clear that he’s afraid to face a Democratic challenger for IA-03. He tried carpetbagging into a safe Republican district, then he tried running for governor — but Donald Trump bullied him into running for reelection in a bid to shore up Republicans’ razor-thin House majority.

Then, Democrat Catelin Drey flipped a Trump +11 district and ended the GOP supermajority in the Iowa State Senate. This wasn’t just any victory — it proved that thousands of Democrats across Iowa are fired up and ready to make a change for the better, and that when we show up, listen, and organize our communities, Democrats can win anywhere in Iowa.
