Help Free Press fight corporate media mergers + attacks on free speech » [link removed]-

Friend,

It’s been a whirlwind few days since ABC caved to pressure from Trump’s FCC and yanked Jimmy Kimmel off the air.

After Kimmel criticized right-wing efforts to exploit Charlie Kirk’s murder, Trump’s hand-picked FCC chairman, Brendan Carr, went on an extremist podcast and threatened ABC’s broadcast licenses, saying “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.”

Within hours, broadcast-station giant Nexstar — which has a $6.2 billion merger with rival Tegna pending before the FCC — said it would no longer carry Kimmel’s show. Disney/ABC announced it was suspending the show “indefinitely” not long after.

Make no mistake: This is government censorship in plain sight. It’s how authoritarian regimes operate: Silence critics, reward loyalists and tighten corporate control of the press. The way companies are caving to the administration is making all of this worse.

Free Press doesn’t take a dime from business, government or political parties — we rely on support from people like you. Will you make your very first gift today to help us fight for free speech and stop corporate media’s capitulation to Trump?

Oh, and one more thing: If you donate $10 or more, we’ll ship you our newest sticker (while supplies last)!

For more than 20 years, Free Press has led the fight against runaway media consolidation — stopping dangerous mergers, exposing government intimidation and organizing thousands of people to defend their right to speak and be heard.

And right now, our supporters are flooding local ABC affiliates with calls. Many stations are overwhelmed, resulting in calls going straight to voicemail or not being answered at all. This grassroots pressure matters, and it’s only possible because of people like you.

But with Carr and Trump determined to turn the FCC into the “Federal Censorship Commission” — and broadcasters striking devil’s bargains for even more consolidation — the stakes could not be higher. We can’t let one company own everything, and we can’t let government officials dictate what we’re allowed to see or say.

Please start your very first gift to Free Press to power this fight — and show ABC, Nexstar and the Trump FCC that we will not be silenced.

Thank you for your support,

Candace and the rest of us at Free Press

P.S. This is what happens when media giants put profits over democracy. Trump’s FCC is trying to turn our public airwaves into a propaganda arm — and only people power can stop it. Donate now to help us fight back. [link removed]-
