As part of the Why Courts Matter engagement program, Kadida is literally meeting voters where they are across the Commonwealth and engaging in a four-month-long civic education roadshow.
The “Why Courts and Judicial Elections Matter” presentations highlight the role of our state courts, cases heard at the appellate and intermediate appellate levels, historical context regarding attacks on the PA Supreme Court’s independence, the power of Pennsylvania voters as one of only seven states that elects all of our judges and justices in partisan elections, and the importance of this year’s judicial retention elections.
Attendees of these interactive civic education events leave with a better understanding of our state courts and how court decisions impact our daily lives.

Donations to the New Pennsylvania Project supports our staff’s community engagement efforts including; organizing and hosting town halls, educational webinars, community conversations, and creating digital content, bi-weekly blasts and social media to reach the communities we engage year-round.
The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
