News from Rep. Mark Harris

Dear john,

Under the Biden administration, the FBI spent more time and resources targeting Christians and churches than violent criminals. But the era of weaponizing our justice department is over!

This week, FBI Director Kash Patel appeared before the House Judiciary Committee, and his testimony made one thing clear: law and order have returned.

Joe Biden’s FBI targeted parents at school board meetings, Catholics, pro-lifers, and everyday Americans. But President Trump and Kash Patel put an end to all of it!

America is a safer place than it was 9 months ago.

Watch my questions to Director Patel here.

Western Civilization is Under Siege

Western civilization as we know it is under siege. Far-left policies in our cities have let criminal after criminal run free in our streets.

Even our own city of Charlotte fell victim to radical pro-crime Democrat policies when Iryna Zarutska was stabbed and killed on a train by a repeat offender who had been arrested 14 times.

Similarly, we saw the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, who championed free speech and worked to reach college students and encourage the next generation of American conservatives.

These two murders not only symbolize an attack on America, but on the entire West. We must take a stand against those who believe that violence is acceptable in a country built on the values of life and freedom.

Restore Civil Discourse

Freedom of speech is in jeopardy.

Charlie Kirk exemplified the power of civil discourse, actively engaging with those who held opposing views to promote meaningful dialogue and an exchange of ideas. His commitment to fostering civil discourse and freedom of speech was inspiring, and, tragically, he lost his life while engaging with those with whom he disagreed.

We must be able to talk about our political differences without fear of being harmed or killed.

Civil discourse must be restored in our society, as it is the only way to maintain our republic. Charlie’s life embodied the best things about our nation — may his legacy serve as a symbol of freedom and free speech for future generations.

Constituent Corner

This week, I had the pleasure of meeting with Jordan and Troy Lumber! Two independent, family-owned lumber companies that are doing great work in the industry for NC-08!

I also met with North Carolina House Representative Jason Almond. He is a new member of the state house representing the 73rd district. I greatly enjoyed discussing how we can continue advancing the America First agenda in North Carolina and across the country!

Finally, I was happy to give a twilight tour of the Capitol to our friends from Christian Tours. It was great to show them our nation's Capitol and give them some history on why this building is so special.

We have worked with dozens of agencies like FEMA, the FAA, and the VA to cut through bureaucratic red tape. So far, we have helped return over $700,000 in tax refunds, benefit checks, and other money owed to our constituents–including a win this week that returned over $100,000 to a Lumberton constituent!

If you or someone you know is unable to get answers from the federal government, please do not hesitate to call my district office. Whether you need help with the IRS, Social Security, or even getting a passport for an upcoming trip, we have a team of constituent service representatives ready to serve you.
