We recently discovered something that left us stunned.
At the very beginning of our new film Buying Her, a former sex buyer, Gene, shares how he was in L.A. on business, driving down Hollywood Boulevard when he saw a woman in prostitution.
He goes on to share how he ended up paying for sex with this woman—his first time as a buyer. That was 40 years ago.
Several weeks ago, we found ourselves marching down that same street—Hollywood Boulevard—in a united protest to end demand, together with advocates and survivors.
We didn’t realize till later that this was the very street Gene had become a buyer.
In what felt like an especially poetic moment, we began our end demand campaign where this man’s demand started.
It felt like planting a bold stake in the ground for this movement.
This was even more punctuated by the fact that we ended our protest march in front of a strip club, directly below a massive billboard promoting our film Buying Her. (see below)
