U.S. Rep. Jodey Arrington: Remembering Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk was beloved for his willingness to engage in conversations with people who disagreed with him — he was a reformer in life and has sparked a revival in death.
Not since the Lincoln-Douglas debates has anyone had a more positive influence on restoring the core democratic principle of exchanging ideas in an impassioned but civil debate than Charlie Kirk.
What he's done to restore it may be one of the greatest contributions in modern history to strengthening our Constitutional Republic.
It’s not just Republicans or conservatives that have reaped the benefits of his courageous leadership; it's the entire country.
When asked what he wanted to be most known for, Charlie said, "I want to be known for courage for my faith."
Charlie embodies the words of the apostle Paul who said at the end of his ministry, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
He modeled the best of America and his legacy will carry on through Erika, his young kids, and a generation inspired by him.
U.S. Rep. Jodey Arrington is a Republican from Lubbock serving the 19th Congressional District of Texas and chairman of the House Budget Committee. His district covers Lubbock and Abilene as well as much of the South Plains, Big Country and surrounding region.
