I wanted to bump this message for you. In 2012, I stood at an Alexei Navalny rally in Moscow. I was there with other hopeful citizens watching democracy struggle to survive.

Then I saw the Russian secret police move in — dressed in dark tactical gear, faces covered, shoving back peaceful crowds.

And I remember thinking: this is what the end of a free society looks like.

Today, I’m watching it happen here.
