He filed a $15 billion lawsuit against the New York Times, alleging defamation and accusing the news organization of being a “virtual mouthpiece” for the Democratic Party.

And team, let’s just call this what it is: a textbook authoritarian stunt. Luckily, the New York Times isn't backing down:

“This lawsuit has no merit… It lacks any legitimate legal claims and instead is an attempt to stifle and discourage independent reporting. The New York Times will not be deterred by intimidation tactics. We will continue to pursue the facts without fear or favor.”

Thankfully, a federal judge just dismissed Trump's lawsuit and called it "improper" and "invective" — proving just how unconstitutional Trump's attacks are on free press.

But team, we know that this is still just the beginning of Trump's attacks. And we can’t let the New York Times' bravery go in vain, because going toe-to-toe with a sitting president is a huge risk.
