Let’s be honest — they didn’t pick him because he has a strong vision for southern New Mexico. They picked him because he’ll support Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda, no matter how extreme or damaging it is for the rest of us.
We’ve already seen what that agenda looks like. We’re living with the consequences.
This past year alone, Trump called for the National Guard to be sent into American cities to shut down peaceful protests.
He pushed to censor the media, attacking media outlets simply for saying things he didn’t like.
And his allies in Congress passed what they proudly called the “Big Beautiful Bill” — a sweeping law that delivered massive tax breaks to the wealthy while gutting support for everyday Americans.
Now that the consequences are setting in — rising energy bills, health care cuts, and higher costs across the board — they’re trying to distance themselves from the very bill they pushed through.
But let me be clear: they passed it. They celebrated it. And they made it law.
