I just wanted to follow up on the email Tom sent on Wednesday about protecting our lands. 

Montana is made up of more than 94 million square acres of public land, over 30 percent of the state. This land is home to countless types of wildlife, national parks and breathtaking wilderness. As the world constantly changes around us, our natural beauty is continuously at risk. 

Our campaign was pleased to receive 216 signatures on our petition, but that was not nearly enough. We are setting a goal of 500 by the end of the day TODAY.

SIGN ON to be one of the first 500 to demand that our elected officials take action to protect our public lands.

Montana holds some of the most beautiful and valuable natural resources our country has to offer. Our public lands not only provide enjoyment, they also generate millions of dollars in economic activity and jobs for the area. One of my top priorities in Congress will be to protect them.

The Trump administration poses an existential threat to our public lands. Some politicians and lobbyists see exploiting Montana’s wilderness as an opportunity to fatten their wallets. We cannot take our public lands for granted - we must act now to protect them. 

This is why I have been working with a group of fellow public servants and environmental justice organizations to create a petition demanding that all elected officials commit to protecting our public lands.
