Here are some other highlights from DFP this week:
“They're quite aware of what they're going through.”
We all remember being a kid and thinking the adults in our lives were completely out of touch. And thanks to the rise of the Internet and the ability for kids to create their own online communities, that gap can sometimes feel wider than ever.
But you really don’t have to know what six seven means to understand how young people are feeling about their mental health.
That’s why we teamed up with our friends at Hopelab to survey young people directly. The poll of young people ages 13-24, shaped directly by young people’s input, challenges oversimplified narratives about their mental health while revealing significant disparities based on identity and economic circumstances.
We find that young people generally report positive mental health, and say that solo downtime, face time with their friends, and getting enough sleep have the most positive impact on their well-being.
But they also say that issues related to their family, friends, and school, as well as their current and future economic concerns are the largest stressors.
