Everywhere I go across New Mexico, I hear the same thing:
Despite their hard work, too many families are barely scraping by month to month.
Right now, New Mexicans are struggling to keep up with skyrocketing costs as Donald Trump continues to wreck our economy and cut vital programs that have helped keep our families afloat. And now, the latest jobs report shows that the U.S. economy is losing jobs for the first time since 2020.
I know what it’s like to struggle. I know what grocery store math feels like. To count every dollar and pray it’ll stretch far enough to cover the roof over your head. I won’t stand by while Trump and MAGA Republicans make life harder.
That’s why, as Governor, lowering rising costs will be one of my top priorities. I’ll stand up to Donald Trump, create good-paying jobs, invest in local economies, and help bring down the cost of living so working families can breathe again.
But let me be clear: Donald Trump and right-wing megadonors see this state as their next pickup opportunity. If they flip New Mexico red, they’ll bring Trump’s dangerous billionaire-first economic agenda with them.
We can’t let that happen, and it’s going to take all of us to stop them.
