We’re watching our country backslide into authoritarianism in real time.

This week, Trump’s FCC Chair publicly threatened ABC over Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show: “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” And ABC was quick to cave to the Trump Administration's demands.

So they pulled Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air indefinitely, because Donald Trump didn’t like something he said.

This is cut-and-dry government censorship. And it represents one of the most chilling attacks on the First Amendment in recent history. Because we all know this won’t stop at one talk show host or one TV network. The message Donald Trump is sending to every media company, every comedian, and every American is clear:

Don’t upset Dear Leader Trump — or the federal government will come after you.

This isn’t “cancel culture for the right,” “consequence culture,” or whatever justification Team MAGA is pushing. This is authoritarianism. It’s about sowing fear within the American people — the fear that if you ever publicly criticize Donald Trump, the federal government will find you and punish you.

But I won’t comply. I refuse to stay silent as Donald Trump declares war on freedom of speech. But since standing up makes me a top Republican target at the ballot box, I need your help. Please, can you chip in whatever you can to make sure Trump can’t replace me with a pro-censorship MAGA ally?
