Dear Friend,

This week, we had the chance to meet with many Minnesotans while in Washington, D.C., as we worked to fund the government.

First, we had the opportunity to meet with members of the Minnesota Transportation Alliance to discuss our work to direct federal funding toward hard infrastructure projects in the Sixth District. These investments keep Minnesotans and our economy moving forward, and we thank the Minnesota Transportation Alliance for all their work to support our state’s transportation infrastructure. You can learn more about the Community Project Funding Requests we submitted for the Fiscal Year 2026 Appropriations cycle here.

We also recently had a chance to meet with representatives from Minnesota’s Children’s Hospital. During our meeting, we had a great discussion on the work we are doing at the federal level to support Minnesota’s health care workforce, medical innovation, and research.

Congressman Emmer joins The Faulkner Focus to discuss Republicans’ government funding initiative

Finally, the House of Representatives passed the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, which extends government funding at current levels through November 21, 2025, and prevents a government shutdown. By doing this, we are giving our colleagues on the appropriations committee additional time to complete the government funding process and get back to the normal, regular order of funding the government.

In addition to keeping the government open, this legislation provides additional funding to enhance security for Members of Congress and the Executive and Judicial branches. It allows the Department of Agriculture to continue providing food assistance to low-income Americans and ensures the Department of Veterans Affairs can continue providing the care and benefits our veterans have earned. Furthermore, it extends expiring health care programs, including community health centers and other public health programs, payments to rural and underserved hospitals, and Medicare telehealth options. We spoke with Harris Faulkner immediately after the legislation passed. You can watch that interview here.

If our office can ever be helpful to you or your family, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at (763) 241-6848 or visit our website at emmer.house.gov.

Sincerely,
