John,
In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make a well-timed donation to help me pass the Election Rigging Response Act. Please give me a chance to explain why this request -- especially today -- is so important.
Here's the truth:
Tomorrow, we have our first, official fundraising deadline of this campaign. When it ends, we're legally required to report how much we've raised.
This is the biggest election in the country and everyone will be watching: the press, the Trump administration and Republican states considering re-drawing their maps.
They're looking to see how much grassroots enthusiasm there is in opposing the Republican power grab happening everywhere.
If we report a big number, they'll know Americans are deeply opposed to their efforts to rig the next election. Plus, every donation will help us win our race here in California.
So this is a big deal. We may have enjoyed our last free and fair election. They're redrawing districts to hold the House; going after ActBlue and Democrats' ability to fundraise; going after colleges, the free press and those they don't like in the media.
Time is running out:
If stopping Trump's power grab is important to you, please contribute to help pass the Election Rigging Response Act in California and to help Adam Schiff fight for our democracy in the Senate. Our average donation is around $30. Many give more. Some give less. All that matters is that lots and lots of people are donating before this deadline.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your split donation to Adam Schiff and Governor Newsom’s Ballot Measure Committee will go through immediately:
Thank you in advance for chipping-in. We have to win. We have no choice.
Gavin Newsom
