Oklahoma,
After historic obstruction from Senate Democrats, we changed the Senate rules to put into place President Trump's highly qualified nominees. In 240 days, we confirmed 140 civilian nominees. The next day, that number jumped up to 188. We're still facing the left's partisan games when it comes to the appropriations process, and the must-pass National Defense Authorization Act. While they're focused on historic obstruction, shutting down the government, and denying our U.S. armed forces critical funding, the Senate GOP—in constant communication with the White House—is putting our pedal to the metal on the Make America Great Again agenda.
Thank you all for your prayers for Erika Kirk, her family, and the families of the September 11th attacks following last week’s anniversary. My heart is warmed by your outpouring of support to all those affected. The 'Oklahoma Standard' is alive and well.

Recently, I was invited to the White House to attend President Trump's inaugural Rose Garden Dinner. It was an honor to be included in the celebration and to be seated with Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Representative Richard Hudson (R-NC), and my friend, Vice President J.D. Vance. If you told a little kid from Westville, OK, I’d ever have this opportunity to serve—I would’ve called you crazy. I am honored to represent you in the Senate.

In a MAJOR win this week: after Senate GOP voted to end the liberal obstruction of President Trump’s nominees, we finally restored the norms of the Senate to speed up confirmations.
As you know, Democrats have been historically obstructing President Trump's highly qualified nominees since DAY ONE. Over the past nine months, not a SINGLE Trump nominee has been confirmed by unanimous consent (for the first time in history). That all changed on Thursday, when Republicans confirmed our first en bloc package of 48 Trump nominees. Our next package will include over 100 more nominees to clear the backlog. As soon as they are sworn in, they can get to work for the American people. The Senate has now confirmed 188 civilian nominees, outpacing the Biden administration and Trump 1.0 by this same point.

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to visit with rural agricultural producers in the Altus, OK, community. We discussed the important collaboration between our cotton farmers, the city, and Altus Air Force Base and the need to maintain and grow supplies of water for the local economy to thrive. It’s always a source of pride that a relatively small town like Altus, OK, has the power to support a critical military base that’s equipping the next generation of airmen.
Additionally, while in Altus, I had the opportunity to review two massive pieces of farming equipment at the Plains Cotton Cooperative Association—a John Deere CS770 Cotton Stripper and a John Deere CP770 Cotton Picker. Before departing the cotton facility, my friend Representative Jason Smith (R-MO) and I recorded a video for Oklahomans detailing some of the most critical wins for America's farmers in the recently passed 'One Big, Beautiful Bill.'

Turning Point USA recently announced their new CEO and Chair of the Board. In a unanimous vote, they decided on Charlie Kirk's wife, Erika. Yesterday, I joined Jack Posobiec on his show Human Events to react to the news, reflect on my relationship with Charlie, and break down the Senate GOP's rules change to undo the historic obstruction and backlog of civilian nominees. Jack and Charlie were good friends. I'll see him in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday for the funeral.

Last week, The Hill published my op-ed calling for the restoration of the Bureau of Labor Statistics and swift confirmation of Dr. EJ Antoni, as well as every one of President Trump’s remaining nominees. We have not updated the way we gather data in two decades. The American people deserve better than lazy, incomplete or misrepresented statistics. Families and business owners deserve accurate data to be able to make informed economic decisions. Antoni will ensure data is collected, processed and disseminated in the most timely and precise way possible. Under his leadership, businesses, policymakers and the general public will once again be able to rely on accurate statistics from the bureau.
