Pigs used for breeding in factory farms live a truly miserable existence. They are kept in metal gestation crates for months on end, suffering from painful and preventable health conditions and enduring profound psychological harm. And when they give birth, they are moved to equally restrictive farrowing crates where they can barely interact with their piglets. Repeating this cycle until slaughter at just two or three years old—far below their natural lifespan.

This cruel confinement is hell on Earth for these sensitive and intelligent animals. Yet, as you read this, a segment of the pork industry is working to roll back rules that combat this extreme and inhumane confinement!

If this segment of the pork industry succeeds, we could see not only Prop 12 rolled back, but many other critical state animal welfare laws! That would be disastrous for suffering farm animals and condemn mother pigs to continue living a nightmare. No animal deserves this cruel fate, friend.
