This summer is anything but “usual”
Friend, we want to wish you a safe and Happy Fourth of July. Your celebrations will probably look a little different this year, but we hope that you have a fantastic holiday. Before the celebrating starts, if you're able, can you give a gift to help someone that is struggling during this difficult time? Thanks ~ Stephanie P.
Summertime offers a break from hectic lives. Usually.
Dear Friend,
2020 has been anything but usual. And now—summer included. The news is out about COVID-19 flare-ups, all while our country continues grappling with deep social issues.
A lot has changed and shaken our communities this year. Thank goodness for you, a trusted VOA friend, through it all. We are so grateful for you and your continued support that helps us be there for others.
These past months were challenging for many, but they're crippling for already vulnerable families. As we continue to respond, demand is surging for VOA services—meals and safe housing, in particular. This is likely to continue for some time.
Can you make a donation to VOA? It will go directly to help meet basic needs for people in your local area.
Because of you, VOA responded to changing needs, shifting programs while keeping people as safe as possible. The result?...
– Thousands of hungry children who can’t be fed at schools are now nourished by to-go meals. – Veterans at the brink of homelessness have kept the roof over their families’ heads. – Low-income seniors, the most fragile of all, are resting comfortably in safe, clean care centers. – Addicted teens chose productive lives over destructive despair with focused mental health counseling ...and the stories of hope go on.
None of these lifesaving stories can happen without every member of the VOA community who can, giving what they can. If you’re able, can you make a gift now?
The events of 2020 have shown us just how much we need each other, and, how powerful we are together. When we help each other, there’s nothing we can’t conquer. Thank you again for being with us.
Only good things,
Stephanie Paauwe Vice President, Volunteers of America
