JOHN, we need to have our eyes wide open.

What’s happening in America right now — the crackdown on the free press, the abuse of federal agencies, the weaponization of power, the masked men in the streets — is disturbingly familiar. Because it’s happened before.

I saw it firsthand.

In 2012, I was in Moscow at an Alexei Navalny rally. I watched as Russian secret police in dark uniforms pushed back peaceful protesters. And I’ll tell you: they looked a hell of a lot like the ICE agents we see today raiding our communities.

This is how Putin started to choke off dissent. This is how Viktor Orbán crushed Hungary’s free press. It starts with stifling opponents. Silencing critics. And turning law enforcement into a tool for personal power.

We are seeing the early stages of that right here in America.

And we cannot ignore it.

I’m running for U.S. Senate because I believe in the America our Founding Fathers envisioned — where the executive branch is powerful but not above the law, and where freedom of speech and the press are sacred.
