It’s National Clean Energy Week!
Double down on our shared commitment to building a sustainable, affordable clean energy economy that works for all of us →
Our country is at a crossroads.
While we work to develop solutions to the impending climate and energy crises, Republicans continue to push for more reliance on oil and gas – a false solution that has only resulted in price volatility and pain for everyday Americans.
Clean, innovative energy technologies and infrastructure are the long-term solution needed to address this crisis and meet our climate goals. But, outdated and complicated regulations are stopping us from advancing these projects at a quick enough pace.
Scott is at the forefront of this fight, and he remains committed to reforming permitting processes so we can build clean energy and housing faster and smarter, and lower costs.
With the GOP continuing to stand in the way of progress, we must send a clear message and call on Congress to speed up our transition to a clean energy economy!
The U.S. is significantly lagging behind other countries in building inter-regional transmission lines that are necessary to upgrade our power grid to support clean energy projects. Those delays are largely due to slow, outdated, and excessive permitting processes put in place by 50-year-old legislation.
Most of the critical solar, wind, and energy storage projects currently in the pipeline stand to be canceled if we cannot quickly build the necessary infrastructure to transmit that energy.
Funding clean energy projects is only part of the battle. If we don’t act faster, that investment will not be enough to address the magnitude of the climate and energy security crises.
We need to update the laws and regulations that are standing in the way of quick clean energy implementation – this can’t wait.
That’s why we need you to join Scott in calling for permitting reforms that will allow us to quickly build the clean energy future we need. Add your name:
Thanks for always standing with Scott.
