The Jimmy Kimmel firing isn’t the only bad media news.

Billionaire MAGA donor Larry Ellison is moving in to take over CBS, which had
already caved to Bush in a bogus lawsuit and cancelled Stephen Colbert’s show,
making a mockery of the First Amendment. .

His first big move? Handing CBS News to Bari Weiss—the so-called “free speech”
crusader who built her brand railing against “cancel culture” while cozying up
to the far right.

Free speech? What we’re seeing is the opposite. Public broadcasting gutted.
Comedians silenced. And now one of the country’s oldest newsrooms captured by
Trump’s allies. We’ll miss you, 60 MInutes.

This is what “independence” looks like in Trump’s America: a billionaire
takeover and a newsroom led by someone who pretends to be neutral while
laundering MAGA talking points into the mainstream.

NPR and PBS are gone. ABC crumbled. CBS is nest. And Trump’s machine is louder
than ever.
