I just introduced a resolution in the House to condemn political violence in all its forms and urge public officials to reject rhetoric that escalates tensions and fans the flames — will you add your name as a Citizen Co-Sponsor of my resolution and call on all leaders to help end the disturbing escalation of political violence across the country? The assassination of Charlie Kirk. The assassination of Melissa Hortman and her husband. The arson attack on Governor Josh Shapiro’s residence. The attempted assassination of Donald Trump. The assault of Paul Pelosi. The riot on the Capitol on January 6th.
I can’t help but feel like we’ve lost our way as a country. How did we get here?
More than ever, our country needs leaders who will bring people together, take down the temperature, and condemn political violence in all its forms.
But the Trump administration has refused to help heal our country and unite us at this perilous moment. Instead, they are using this tragedy to bring deeper division and is also now targeting anyone who disagrees with him.
This shouldn’t be difficult for Donald Trump to say: Political violence should be denounced unequivocally by all of us. This isn’t something that affects one party or community. We are better than this.
It is dangerous, un-American, and it can not be tolerated. If you agree, please become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of my new resolution today: [[link removed]]
