Hi John,
You know the Governor General bleeds taxpayers dry and this is your chance to demand an end to these lavish perks.
The latest revelations make the waste impossible to ignore.
The Governor General stuck you with the bill for $1,117 for shoes, $875 for a blazer and $165 for a silk camisole.
As if that weren’t enough, she also takes home a $378,000 salary, along with a taxpayer-funded mansion, full staff, lavish travel privileges and even a lifetime expense account. And every cent comes from your pockets.
Canadians struggling with the cost of living shouldn’t be forced to bankroll a ceremonial figurehead’s luxury wardrobe. It’s completely out of touch.
Prime Minister Mark Carney says he wants to cut program spending.
If he’s serious, Rideau Hall’s perks must be on the chopping block.
That’s why it’s important for you to sign the petition to cut the Governor General’s perks.
When you sign, you join thousands of Canadians demanding accountability and pushing Ottawa to act. You will be the first to know when and how to act to make sure the politicians finally act and cut Rideau Hall’s budget.
Will you sign the petition to cut the Governor General’s perks?
**
We, the undersigned, call on the federal government to rein in governor general perks.

Every week, I hear from Canadians who are exhausted. They’re working long hours to stay afloat, only to find their money is being blown on designer shopping trips at Rideau Hall.
You give them hope. And together, we can win this fight.
Thank you for standing up for taxpayers. Your voice is making a difference.
