Free Speech is under attack.

As your Attorney General, I’ve taken on powerful interests to defend the rule of law and our freedoms. Now, as a candidate for Governor, I want to talk about another freedom at stake: free speech.

Recently, the FCC chairman pressured ABC to pull Jimmy Kimmel Live off the air by threatening to pull its TV licenses. Just because he didn’t like what Jimmy Kimmel said. Government punishment for what someone says or their opinions is illegal, dangerous, and a direct threat to the First Amendment.

In our democratic republic, the answer to speech we disagree with is not censorship — it’s more speech.

When government officials use their power to silence critics, it undermines the very fabric of our nation.

We’ve seen this playbook before from the Trump Administration — threatening to withhold funding, abusing federal agencies, and trying to silence voices they don’t like. Here in Colorado, I’ve fought back and won when the federal government tried to overreach. I will keep standing up for our freedoms, no matter who is in power. You can listen to my address here:

Our democratic republic depends on leaders who won’t normalize political intimidation or the silencing of voices. That’s the leadership I’ve brought as Attorney General, and that’s the leadership I’ll bring as Governor.

And I cannot do this alone. I need your help to protect our first amendment rights, and to keep standing up to a lawless bully who is trying to censor our voices.
