John,

A lot has happened in recent weeks, so I wanted to take a moment to get you up to speed:

* Republicans are doubling down on their extreme agenda -- pushing devastating cuts to Medicaid, education, and climate investments. They are backing reckless tariffs that are already driving up costs for Californians. These attacks aren’t abstract; they hit families, communities, and our future directly.

* Our race to keep CA-27 blue in 2026 is already underway. I flipped this seat just last year, and election analysts now list it as one of the top Republican targets in the entire country. I remain on the Democrats’ official “Frontline” list of the most vulnerable members of Congress.

* A new Republican challenger officially entered this race. That makes this FEC deadline my first test of strength since then -- and it’s critical we show we’re ready to fight back.

This is not the time to give up, and the fact is winning a House majority next year is the best way to create a real check on this administration. Please chip in $3 or any amount before our FEC deadline to help us prepare for the work ahead.
