This week, the Trump administration rapidly escalated its assault on free speech and political dissent. They’re no longer only targeting pro-Palestinian activism: they’re censoring and attacking ANY speech they don’t like.

Justice Democrats’ Rep. Summer Lee put it perfectly: “We aren't just approaching authoritarianism—we're already in it.”

Look at what happened in this past week alone:

• An immigration judge agreed with the Trump administration and ordered Palestinian activist and legal permanent U.S. resident Mahmoud Khalil to be deported despite committing no crimes.
  
  
• Late-night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! was abruptly and indefinitely suspended after Trump’s FCC threatened Disney/ABC and demanded the network punish Kimmel for his commentary on Charlie Kirk’s death and the MAGA response to it.
  
  
• While hosting Charlie Kirk’s podcast from the White House, JD Vance blamed “left-wing extremism” for Kirk’s death, encouraged doxxing, said private employers should fire people who criticize Kirk, and vowed retribution against liberal organizations.
  
  
• Trump declared he’s designating ‘antifa’ as a terrorist organization, even though it is not a singular, structured group and refers to the broader anti-fascist movement.
  
  
• MAGA Rep. Nancy Mace spent the week tweeting and harassing Rep. Ilhan Omar and tried to force a vote to censure her for comments about Charlie Kirk she didn’t even make. She was unsuccessful, with even some Republicans voting against it.

This is on top of the White House suing media outlets, threatening to revoke funding for colleges and universities, and trying to hand TikTok to pro-Trump investors.

Fascism is here, John, and we’re not going to let this regime’s fear and intimidation tactics stop us from speaking truth to power.

Justice Democrats is here to organize people against organized money. We’re taking on Trump, his billionaire megadonors, and corporate super PACs. We’re also challenging the Democratic establishment, demanding they actually do their jobs and fight for us. We’re sending working-class leaders to represent working-class communities in Congress. We are building a progressive movement from the ground up and fighting back against fascism.

But we can’t do it by ourselves. Especially now that Trump and Vance are loudly and explicitly announcing their plans to target progressive groups like ours.
