It’s time for Congress to act.

Tell Congress to support increased funding for safe and secure elections this year:

“Recent news reports have shown all that can go wrong when our elections are not properly funded. These stories of election chaos have left many wondering about what will happen in November if we proceed on our current path. We need Congress to provide states with additional funding to ensure that the 2020 elections are safe, secure, and fair amid coronavirus.”

John,

There are about 100 days left until we vote on who the next president will be. And as we have seen in primaries across the country, we aren’t close to being ready to vote safely and securely in November.

States such as Wisconsin and Georgia have shown that when states are unprepared to hold an election, chaos ensues. Reports of hours-long wait times, disenfranchised voters, faulty machines, and ballots that never arrived have become far too frequent.

Without any action to remedy these issues, there could be serious delays in election results and a growing sense of distrust among Americans about the legitimacy of the election. People may even question the results — including our elected leaders — and that could cause a constitutional crisis.

Tell Congress to act now and ensure that states have the funding they need to protect the 2020 elections.

If states have the time and resources they need, they can fix these kinds of problems and protect America from election dysfunction in November. But make no mistake — action must be taken now.
