Hi John -
My name is Jamie Margolin. I’m a 17-year-old climate justice activist, and
I’m terrified of what the future holds if we remain on our current carbon
trajectory.
The climate crisis looms over every single decision I make, and impedes
any and all plans I try to make for the future. I have never known a time
in my life where life on earth as we know it wasn't coming to an end
thanks to the climate crisis.
It’s time for adults to join us, and help us with this immense weight we
are carrying. We the youth are calling on people of all ages to join in
— and we need all of us to heed the call to action.
[ [link removed] ]On September 20th, millions of people of all ages around the world will
walk out of their classes, jobs, and homes as part of a Global Climate
Strike. Will you join them?

Young people like me have been taking action to protect our climate for
years. In 2018, Zero Hour, the organization I co-founded, organized the
international Youth Climate Marches which took place in Washington D.C.
and 25 cities around the world. Since we started, young people around the
world have been taking to the streets in larger and larger numbers. But we
can't do it alone.
This morning, the Nebraska Supreme Court approved a key permit for the
infamous Keystone XL pipeline^1 — right at the exact moment that fires are
raging from the Arctic to the Amazon. Now, more than ever, we need people
of all ages to join youth in the streets. The time has come for all of us
to leverage our collective power to stop fossil fuel billionaires from
burning the planet, and hold the politicians who've aided and abetted them
accountable.
I spend up to 7 hours daily on top of being a full time high school
student organizing to have the bare minimum of a livable future. This is
the time to ask: what can you do to support youth activists like me in the
fight for all our futures?
[ [link removed] ]There are already over 200 Climate Strikes on the map in the US. Join
one near you now, or sign up to host one where you live.
Are you with us?
