Last week, the Subcommittee on School Initiates at the SBOE discussed SB 204 by Senator Angela Paxton that requires school board trustees to receive training on parental rights and for each school district in the state of Texas to provide a handbook with parental rights that can be easily accessed by parents.

The implementation date for the parental rights handbook is January 1, 2026 and the deadline for the school board trustee training is April 2026. Texas Values worked with Senator Paxton and testified in favor of this law. If you have questions, please email us at [email protected].

The Texas Ten Commandments Bill (SB 10) went into effect on September 1!

It’s up to the people of Texas to help implement this new law—and you can play a vital role. For the Ten Commandments to be displayed, the poster or framed copy must be donated to the school(s). 

Visit our website tencommandmentstexas.com and select the school(s) in your area, purchase posters by following a simple step-by-step guide to donate them to your local school and district. You can also volunteer to deliver posters to schools.
