If they won’t negotiate, they’ll be the ones to blame.

Chuck Schumer

Friend,

Congress has until September 30 to pass a spending bill, or the government will shut down.

Democrats are ready to work across the aisle to keep the government open and repair the grave damage Donald Trump has done to our healthcare system. But Republicans have refused to even start a conversation. Now Trump is telling them: “Don’t even bother dealing with them.”

Let’s be clear: If Republicans refuse to negotiate, they’ll be responsible for a shutdown. Add your name now to demand they come to the table and work toward a bipartisan solution to fund the government.

SIGN THE PETITION

Trump’s actions have harmed our country. He’s stolen and canceled congressionally appropriated funding, cut funding for healthcare and rural hospitals, and damaged our economy with reckless tariffs.

In the past, Democrats and Republicans have always worked together on bipartisan funding bills. What’s different now is that Trump and his allies are ordering Republicans not to negotiate.

Senate Democrats are united. We’re fighting for a funding bill that meets the needs of the American people. That won’t happen unless Republicans are willing to negotiate.

Trump may claim Republicans can go it alone, but he can’t change the math. He needs Democratic votes. And if they want those votes, they must negotiate and address our concerns.

Sign our petition to call on Republicans to stop the obstruction and work with Democrats to fund the government and protect Americans.

SIGN THE PETITION

Sincerely,

Chuck Schumer
