DONATE >> [[link removed]]I grew up in Butte, Nebraska – a town of 400 people. There were 24 kids in my high school class. Living in a small town, you learn early on what it means to look out for your neighbors and to serve others.

That call to service is what led me to enlist in the Army National Guard just two days after my 17th birthday. I was proud to wear the uniform of this country for the next 24 years.

My drive to serve others eventually set me on a new path: teaching. My wife Gwen and I met while teaching high school. Kids carry their whole lives with them into the classroom and Gwen and I got to know our students and see the obstacles they faced. It was my experience as a teacher and my passion for education that led me to run for governor.

Serving as Governor of Minnesota has been the honor of my life, and I couldn't be prouder of the progress we've won. From providing universal free school meals for students, to protecting reproductive freedom, and cutting taxes for the middle class, we've secured tangible results that Minnesotans can actually feel.

The values that inspired me to serve our country in uniform, become an educator, and run for governor are the same ones I still carry with me each day as I work for the people of Minnesota. I still believe in helping our neighbors, protecting our freedoms, and investing in the future for our next generation. And I believe that, despite Donald Trump and MAGA's attempts to tear us apart, we are still all in this together.

iVote was created in 2014 with one goal: secure voting rights for all Americans.

Rather than take on challenges in the court after unfair laws have passed, iVote plays defense on voter suppression efforts AND goes on offense to secure and expand access to voting.
