Dear Friend,
Amid the compounding of a global pandemic and police brutality continuing to threaten Black communities, we are witnessing historic mass uprisings and community-based mutual aid organized to defend Black life. Both are intrinsically linked displays of systemic racism, and the health and economic impacts of COVID-19 are far from over.
We will continue to show up in the streets for Black communities and need your help to ensure their basic necessities are met. [Donate to the Community Solidarity Fund to provide direct relief to frontline Black and Brown communities.]([link removed])
[ ]([link removed]) PROVIDE DIRECT RELIEF NOW
Contributions to the Community Solidarity Fund provide basic necessities to communities devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and historically impacted by systemic racism in our country. Our partners provide cash assistance, food, groceries and other basic needs to their community members—and we couldn’t do this essential work without your support. Since launching the fund in March, we’ve directed hundreds of thousands of dollars to communities at the epicenters of COVID-19. While the government fails to provide adequate and inclusive relief, the basic needs of these families remain unmet. Current federal unemployment benefits—$600 a week that Black and Brown families rely on to feed and house their families—will end next month during record unemployment. We must support each other now more than ever. [Contribute to the Community Solidarity Fund today to aid communities for whom mutual aid is a lifeline.]([link removed])
In solidarity,
