John,
Donald Trump is trying to silence critics, crush opposition, and consolidate power — and he’s getting away with it.
Yesterday, Trump pressured ABC to pull Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air — something he’s been trying to do for years because of Kimmel’s criticism. And he was finally successful.
This is a blatant attempt to punish dissent and control the narrative of his presidency.
This isn’t an isolated incident and is not the first time we’ve seen Trump abuse his power. Six years ago, my twin brother and I blew the whistle on his attempt to extort Ukraine — withholding weapons unless they investigated Joe Biden. We lost our military careers for speaking truth to power because speaking the truth meant opposing Trump.
That was an early example of the same pattern we see today: Trump leveraging power to intimidate, coerce, and control everyone around him.
President Zelenskyy bravely refused to take the bait, but some of Trump’s billionaire allies have been far more willing to comply. They’re bending over backward to placate him, all while he silences anyone who dares speak out.
This is a five-alarm fire, John. The stakes couldn’t be higher: If we let this go unchecked, it erodes the very foundations of our democracy.
I refuse to stay silent. I am fighting back with every tool at my disposal — but I cannot do it alone. I need you with me.
