Holy shit, John:

ABC just pulled Jimmy Kimmel off the air after threats from Trump's FCC chair.

This is unbelievable behavior from a corrupt Oval Office, and it’s not just one joke and one comedian. It’s a pattern.

Already this year, Stephen Colbert's been targeted. Trump and his admin have filed lawsuits against the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and 60 Minutes. He has squeezed CBS and ABC into settlements. He’s blocked the Associated Press from accessing the White House.

Now he's politicizing a horrific murder and using this tragedy to silence critics and scare people into staying quiet. That's the authoritarian playbook.

You don't have to like Jimmy Kimmel or agree with his jokes to see how dangerous this is in a democracy, where dissent shouldn't be optional. This is what keeps leaders accountable.

Trump is coming after our First Amendment rights. If we don't push back, dissent disappears, and with it goes democracy. That’s why I’m introducing a resolution to protect free speech — stay tuned.

We are organizing and fighting back. Now is not the time to stay silent — we need to speak out. Pitch in to help amplify our voices in opposition to these attacks on our freedom of speech.

John, we are on a dangerous path toward authoritarianism. If we don’t use our voices to speak out, we could lose the ability to dissent altogether.

Now’s the time to organize. Thanks for joining me.
