The NRA’s deadly influence led to the end of the original Assault Weapons Ban after only ten years and a devastating 347% increase in mass shootings because of it. It’s time for lawmakers to choose American lives over gun lobby blood money and finally take a stand against the NRA.
Will you send an urgent message to Congress NOW and demand a new ban on assault weapons? >> [[link removed]]

John,
This week marks 30 years since lawmakers on both sides of the aisle put aside partisan politics in favor of saving lives, passing the original Assault Weapons Ban. During the ten years that the ban was in place, mass shootings decreased and communities were saved from heartache and destruction.
But, thanks to nefarious lobbying by the NRA, the ban ended after only a decade and mass shootings increased by an astounding 347%. The end of the ban also led to a surge in production and ownership of deadly, military-style assault weapons across the country.
And despite the numerous tragedies committed with an assault weapon in the decades since – Parkland, Newtown, Uvalde, Las Vegas, Aurora, and Buffalo are just a few of the communities forever changed – lawmakers have failed to reinstate the ban on these deadly weapons.
We can’t wait for more people – for more children – to die from military-grade gunfire. Assault weapons are designed for mass destruction and mean more people are shot in less time. These firearms do not belong on our streets when they are meant for the battlefield, John.
If you’re one of the majority of Americans who supports an assault weapons ban, will you send an urgent message to Congress NOW and urge them to pass this life-saving legislation before more people are senselessly gunned down? >> [[link removed]]

Assault weapons have been used to kill people in grocery stores, at concerts, in places of worship. They’ve been used to gun down children in their classroom. Everyday life is under constant threat because our lawmakers refuse to act in the interest of our safety. The NRA and the gun lobby would rather make a profit off of marketing these deadly weapons to dangerous users than support any measure that would keep our children and families safe.
It’s unacceptable. And it’s long past time for lawmakers to stand up to the gun lobby and do what’s right.
We'll only be able to overcome the gun lobby's influence in Washington if dedicated activists like you raise your voice for change. Will you send an urgent message to Congress and urge them to ban assault weapons and finally save lives? >> [[link removed]]
