I’ll be honest with you, John.

The latest Inside Elections report confirms what we’ve suspected for months:

Our race in California’s 49th District is going to be one of the most competitive in the country, and will once again make or break the House majority.

Here are two reasons why:

1. They have officially listed CA-49 as “Lean Democratic”.

2. Inside Elections cites a key reason: My opponent's fundraising. Based on their report, he's rapidly closing the cash gap. He’s hoping to attract large national Republican super PACs to rally behind his cause.

That’s what we’re up against, and if we lose CA-49, we risk handing the House back to Trump’s allies and losing our best chance to check his power.

I’m in Washington now, back in session, fighting every day to defend our democracy, and push back on anti-science extremism. But I can’t do it without you, John.
