We want to say thank you.

Donald Trump walked back his threats to send troops into Chicago.

Make no mistake: This is because of the pressure from leaders like Tammy and supporters like you. Thank you for using your voice in this critical moment.

But our work is far from over. Although we’ve temporarily deterred Trump from forcing National Guardsmen to intimidate us in our own communities, he’s still ramping up immigration enforcement in Chicago.

He’s even planning on using Naval Station Great Lakes for this immigration operation.

When Tammy went to ask about their plans for the Navy’s training base, Trump’s DHS officials locked the doors and fled.

That is unacceptable. Tammy is not going to let Trump’s yes-men hide from accountability in her home state.

She’s demanding that the Trump Administration:

Put all of their plans for Illinois in writing.
Confirm that no military resources will be used by ICE.
Require all federal agents to wear clear labels.
That is the leadership that Illinois deserves—not threats shrouded in secrecy.
