Friend —

What if I told you that 72% of a particular group of climate candidates — leaders committed to climate justice — go on to win their races? Those candidates are part of GiveGreen, a collaboration of environmental advocacy organizations that work to elect climate leaders at all levels of government.

I am working with GiveGreen to present newly endorsed leaders who will help retake the Senate, hold the House, and fight for climate justice everywhere.

*To kick off our Climate Candidate series, I’m asking you to consider supporting Sara Gideon, who’s running for Senate in Maine against Republican Senator Susan Collins.* ( [link removed] )

This closely watched race is crucial if we hope to retake the Senate — and we need Sara Gideon’s leadership. As Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, Sara has seen her state deal with climate change firsthand, from Maine’s coastal communities to lobster and agricultural industries. She understands how to get meaningful legislation passed to address the crisis. I know she’ll fight for clean energy solutions, green jobs, and a just economy.

And since we’re talking about flipping a seat, let’s call it out: Senator Susan Collins has sided with her Republican colleagues and neglected to do the right thing on climate. She’s received $500,000 from fossil fuel lobbyists and raised funds with climate change deniers. The League of Conservation Voters, a GiveGreen collaborator, gives Senator Collins’ lifetime voting record a terrible grade of 61%. It’s time for her to go.

*Can you make a donation to help Sara Gideon defeat Susan Collins, and help Democrats retake the Senate?* ( [link removed] )

Sara is the first of many candidates I’ll be endorsing in our Climate Candidate series. Stay tuned for more.

Thanks for all you do,
Tom
