Dear John,
Prior to my serving as our State Representative and a physician-legislator, I was a clinical researcher. There are two cardinal rules in clinical research. First, protect the patient who has consented to participate in research. Second, report the data truthfully.
Those rules inform my work as a legislator as well. I always strive to protect my community and tell the truth on the policy issues we are facing.
We are now unfortunately seeing an immediate real-world example of the perversion of facts and science for a dangerous ideology. Today, we saw real heroes, the former scientific leadership of the CDC, testify they were forced out for not accepting predetermined false conclusions on vaccines from the ideologically driven and dangerous HHS Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
By Friday, we can expect to see RFK, Jr.'s falsehoods to lead to a decision that will expose infants and children to a deadly disease, Hepatitis B, that we have virtually eradicated with a safe and effective vaccine.
As our only physician-legislator, I am fighting for policies that protect our community and are grounded in facts, especially for something as important as vaccines.
But I cannot do this alone. Can you contribute any amount to help me continue to fight for rational public health policies for all Pennsylvanians and stand against a dangerous ideology that is undermining our safety and that of our kids? [[link removed]]
