This week, Attorney General Pam Bondi told an interviewer that federal law enforcement will target Americans for hate speech against conservatives—a violation of the right to free speech under the First Amendment. For the Trump administration, that means anything that opposes or criticizes the president or his allies.
Bondi’s comment is just the latest threat to our freedom of speech. JD Vance, Stephen Miller, and Pam Bondi have all stated that they will come after left-wing nonprofits and networks.
Let’s be clear: This is the biggest, most blatant assault on the First Amendment in modern U.S. history. We cannot allow Trump and his allies to abuse their power to attack free speech.
