Now in its sixteenth year, the Audubon Photography Awards expanded to residents of Chile and Colombia to tell the story of hemispheric bird conservation. With new prizes focusing on migratory species, habitats, and conservation, this year’s awards highlight how birds connect people across geographies and ecosystems. Browse our Honorable Mentions gallery and see more stunning photos and videos that celebrate the biodiversity of our hemisphere.
Many of the birds that migrate between Chile, Colombia, Canada, and the United States are vulnerable to extinction due to climate change—including species featured in this year’s Audubon Photography Awards like the Royal Tern and Blackburnian Warbler. This year’s submissions remind us why it is so important to protect birds and the many different places they need in our interconnected world.
We are grateful to our generous sponsors for helping make this year’s awards possible.
