We are looking for an attorney or legal scholar with three to seven years or more of experience to serve as a Counsel. Qualified applicants will be well-versed in litigation, legislative lawyering, and/or public policy. The Counsel will provide legal research and analysis related to litigation, legislation, and regulatory and policy developments concerning issues of sexual orientation and gender identity, particularly at the federal level. The Counsel will also work on independent research projects to inform current issues of law and public policy.
Each summer, the Gleason/Kettel Summer Law Fellowship provides two law students, or recent law school graduates, with a stipend to work in the field of sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy. Val Ezre is a rising 2L at UCLA School of Law. Val is working with the LGBTQ & HIV Advocacy Project at Brooklyn Legal Services, helping to serve low-income LGBTQ and HIV+ clients in areas such as immigration, public benefits, and housing.
Will Tentindo
Will Tentindo is a rising 3L at UCLA Law. Will is working with Lambda Legal in their Western Regional Office, assisting civil rights litigation challenging a state statute denying transgender people the ability to change their gender marker on their birth certificate.
