Dear John,

Last week, I voted to pass the Justice in Policing Act of 2020 that the Congressional Black Caucus introduced to address police brutality and racial injustice in our country.

This bill will:

- Ban chokeholds
- Ban no-knock warrants in drug cases
- Make lynching a federal crime
- Create a National Police Misconduct Registry and a national use-of-force standard
- Limit the transfer of military-grade equipment  to local law enforcement
- Lower legal standards needed to pursue civil and criminal penalties for police misconduct
- End qualified immunity as we know it

Do you support these reforms? Please take a moment to share your opinion below.
