I’m going to be direct with you because that’s how I lead:

On September 30th, our campaign faces a critical FEC fundraising deadline, and I need your help to make sure we show up strong.

After this deadline, we’ll be legally required to publicly report how many people have contributed and how much we’ve raised together as a grassroots movement.

Everyone will be watching: My opponents — one with over $20 million in the bank, and another with D.C. connections and large sums of corporate PAC money. And the GOP, which has been attacking me relentlessly for defending Illinois’ immigrant communities.

They’ll all be combing through every single line of our fundraising report, looking for one thing: any signs of weakness.

They’re betting that we can’t build a grassroots campaign strong enough to win. But they’re wrong if they think we’ll back down.

I don’t take a dime of corporate PAC money. This grassroots team is my main source of strength — and with you by my side, I know we can meet this moment and prove we’re ready to win.
