Friend,

The Trump administration has wasted no time signaling potential changes to marijuana policy. Trump said his administration is “looking at” moving marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act.

But here’s the problem: rescheduling is not enough. Schedule III would still leave marijuana criminalized under federal law, which means people will continue being arrested, incarcerated, and saddled with criminal records — while corporations profit.

We know what’s needed: full descheduling. That’s the only way to finally end marijuana criminalization, stop needless arrests, and begin to repair the harms prohibition has caused for decades.

It’s a critical moment in the movement for marijuana reform. And we must keep pushing forward.

Right now, one of the best ways to help the fight is to join DPA’s Reformers Club with a monthly gift. Until September 30, your first year of monthly gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000.

It wasn’t easy to get to this point. Over the years, members of DPA’s Reformers Club provided the crucial monthly support needed to get us this far. Now we need more people like you to join the Reformers Club to help to:

---Demand full descheduling of of marijuana, not just rescheduling.
---End federal criminal penalties that block access to jobs, housing, and essential needs.
---Advance expungements so people with past convictions get a fair shot.
---Ensure public health and consumer protections in any new system.
---Invest tax revenue back into the communities most harmed by prohibition.

And the recently reintroduced MORE Act would begin to do that. The MORE Act is the only bill in Congress that will decriminalize marijuana to end federal marijuana prohibition with the comprehensive reforms needed to repair the damage it’s done to communities and ensure an equitable path forward rooted in racial and social justice.

That’s why this is no time to sit back. With federal marijuana reform picking up steam, we need steady, reliable monthly support to ensure it prioritizes public health, consumer safety, and justice for those harmed by criminalization.

Friend, please join today and double your impact for an entire year while you still can. This special match will expire on September 30, so don’t wait!
