When Congress and the courts hold the executive branch accountable, government works for the people—not just the powerful. This ensures laws are enforced fairly, prevents corruption, and protects your freedoms. It means your rights, your vote, and your voice can’t be ignored or silenced.

But if the President has unchecked power, they can favor friends, target opponents, and even use government to harm the livelihoods of those who disagree with them. That’s not democracy—that’s dictatorship.
