This is a truly sad moment for all who believe in civil liberties and basic rights. 

The Trump Administration has said it themselves: they are detaining people simply based on whether they “look” like an immigrant or if they speak a different language.

Trump isn’t just targeting violent criminals, he’s violently uprooting hardworking, innocent people – including U.S. citizens – from their communities indiscriminately. 

And this week’s radical Supreme Court decision gives him the ability to trample on our Constitution and enables racial profiling all over the country.

Growing up, I often felt like an outsider because of my identity. But I never had to fear being detained or questioned just because of how I looked or the language I spoke. 

Now, as a father of first-generation brown children, I'm fearful for our country’s future.
