Pure Star Laundry workers ratify new contract

Members of Workers United MARJB at Pure Star Laundry (Local 1071-3) at the National Habor in MD recently ratified a new three-year contract. The new contract includes across-the-board wage increases and extra personal and sick days. The contract vote was 100% yes! Congratulations, Workers United MARJB members!

AGMA members win new contract at Washington Ballet

Members of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) won a new three-year agreement with The Washington Ballet. This agreement includes raises to Artists’ wage scales, improves financial barriers that prevent dancers from entering the industry, guarantees earlier schedule postings, safer working conditions, better travel standards, and stronger protections across the board. Congratulations, AGMA members!

26th Annual Golf Tournament 2025

On Monday September 22, the Community Services Agency (CSA) of the Metropolitan Washington Council AFL-CIO will host the 26th annual Benefit Golf Tournament. This annual event is a fundraiser for CSA's Emergency Assistance Fund for union members. Make a donation to the Assistance Fund in celebration of Monday's event.

DC's Paid Family Leave program provides up to 12 weeks of paid time off for any worker to care for a new baby or family member. Learn about this program at a virtual training with the Community Services Agency and First Shift Justice Project on September 22 at 7:00 PM.
